Maine singer-songwriter Lisa Redfern created a ballad expressly or Mr. Shay.

“I was honored to tell part of his life story in a song. It was a very moving experience for me to share it with him, on the night we first met, and to see how it touched him,” said Redfern.

Full Circle Fire: The Ballad of Charles Shay was performed by Lisa at the dedication of the Charles Shay Indian Memorial Park on June 5, 2017 in Normandy, France.
